B-screen

B-Screen Platform

The B-Screen platform is a technological infrastructure dedicated to the discovery and functional characterization of antibodies and immune receptors derived from B and T lymphocytes from patient samples. It enables the identification of therapeutic target–antibody pairs of interest through high-throughput single-cell screening approaches performed in a physiologically relevant context.

Designed for both academic teams and industrial partners, B-Screen provides integrated access to cutting-edge technologies, from immune repertoire analysis to the functional validation of identified antibodies and receptors.

B-Screen supports immunology and antibody development projects throughout the key stages of the discovery phase. The platform notably addresses the following needs:

  • Identify novel antibodies and receptors (BCRs, TCRs) from patient-derived cells
  • Explore immune repertoires across various pathological contexts
  • Characterize antibody specificity, affinity, and biological functions
  • Discover novel therapeutic targets and their associated ligands
  • Generate proof-of-concept data for antibody-based approaches
  • Accelerate the “bed-to-bench” transition through the direct exploitation of clinical samples

Our Technology

B-Screen relies on an integrated approach combining single-cell screening, microfluidics, functional immunology, and multi-omics analyses. This strategy is powered by the Beacon technology, which enables the manipulation and analysis of individual living cells with extremely high precision.

Concretely, immune cells of interest — mainly B and T cells — are isolated from patient blood samples and introduced into a microfluidic chip. The Beacon platform uses optoelectronic fields to capture and position each individual cell into micro-compartments called “NanoPens”.

At this stage, each cell is analyzed under near-physiological conditions. The technology makes it possible to monitor antibody secretion in real time, assess specificity, and measure functional activity. Unlike conventional approaches, these analyses are performed at the single-cell level, without dilution or loss of information.

Cells displaying the most relevant profiles are then automatically selected. Their genetic material is recovered to identify antibody sequences, which can subsequently be produced and further characterized through multi-omics analyses (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).

Beacon technology therefore constitutes the core of the B-Screen platform: it directly connects functional immune cell data to clinical applications, moving from patient-derived samples toward innovative therapeutic solutions.
