Marseille, January 8, 2025 – Marseille Immunology Biocluster marks a new milestone in the development of translational immunology with the operational launch of Cell-Scale, a state-of-the-art technological platform dedicated to the engineering and development of innovative cell therapies.
Designed to address the scientific and technological challenges of next-generation immunotherapies, Cell-Scale is now fully operational and available as a service platform for academic, hospital–university teams, start-ups, and biotechnology companies.
A Platform Supporting Translational Research in Cell Therapy
Cell-Scale supports research and pre-development projects in cell therapy, with particular expertise in CAR (Chimeric Antigen Receptor) cells, across a wide range of pathological contexts, including cancer, infectious diseases, and autoimmune disorders.
The platform offers an integrated set of expertise and technologies covering all stages of cell therapy projects:
Comprehensive Functional Evaluation, from In Vitro to In Vivo
To assess the safety, efficacy, and persistence of the developed CAR cells, Cell-Scale provides a comprehensive range of functional assays:
Targeted cytotoxicity assays
Cytokine production analysis
In vivo functional testing for the most advanced projects
These approaches enable a robust and integrated evaluation of therapeutic candidates upstream of clinical development.
Tailored Scientific Support
Beyond technological services, Cell-Scale offers customized scientific and technical support, from project design through translational maturation. This integrated approach is a key driver in accelerating the transfer of fundamental research into clinical and industrial applications.
Marseille, a Center of Excellence in Cell Engineering
With the operational launch of Cell-Scale, Marseille Immunology Biocluster confirms its ability to federate state-of-the-art infrastructures in support of innovation in immunotherapy. This new platform strengthens the regional and national ecosystem by providing a strategic resource for the scientific community and stakeholders involved in cell therapy development.
The platform is now open to academic and industrial projects, as well as collaborative initiatives.
