C2iT

C2IT Platform

The Exploratory Clinical Trials Center in Immunotherapy (C2IT) of the Marseille Immunology Biocluster (MIB) provides multidisciplinary and cross-functional expertise in immunotherapy.

C2IT brings together the strengths of AP-HM and IPC for early-phase clinical studies and addresses

  • Oncology
Two leading centers for early-phase clinical trials (CLIPP):
    • Accredited by the French National Cancer Institute (INCa)
    • Authorized to conduct Phase I clinical trials, including First-in-Human (FIH) studies
    • Two adult centers and one pediatric center
  • Autoimmunity / Inflammation
One Clinical Investigation Center (CIC) authorised to conduct Phase I clinical trials, including First-in-Human (FIH) studies.
  • Infectious Diseases
  • Central Laboratory Accredited by COFRAC under ISO 15189 and ISO 22870 standards
  • Additional infrastructures
  • Immunotoxicity network for the management of adverse events
  • A wide panel of preclinical and translational platforms, including immunomonitoring
  • Health Data Warehouses (EDS)

One of the biocluster’s mission is to provide patients with access to innovative treatments in oncology ; autoimmune, inflammatory, and infectious diseases. MIB C2IT gives to patients access to up to 110 clinical trials per year (including about 60 Phase I/II trials) aiming at evaluating new therapies.

To maximize benefits for patients, C2IT simultaneously conducts translational studies and predictive biomarker research supporting precision medicine in immunology.

Furthermore, the development of innovative projects requires access to clinical trials, biological samples and associated data, facilitated by C2IT.

Integrated within the MIB ecosystem, C2IT plays a central role within the technological hub, addressing challenges related to Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), including cell therapies.

C2IT Expertise

C2IT service relies on multidisciplinary and cross-functional expertise covering a wide range of pathologies in oncology, autoimmunity, inflammation, and infectious diseases, as well as clinical and translational research management.

By providing access to its full range of resources, C2IT ensures:

These fully integrated services enable the efficient implementation of drug discovery and development programs.

C2IT Governance and Organization

To ensure optimal handling of requests, C2IT is structured with:

  • Steering Committee led by three medical professors representing two major areas of activity:
    • Immuno-oncology (IO) : Prof. Pascale Tomasini – AP-HM  and Prof. Anthony Gonçalves – IPC
    • Autoimmune / Inflammatory / Infectious diseases (AI3D) : Prof. Noémie Jourde-Chiche – AP-HM
  • This committee enables :
    • Efficient feedback to study proposals requests (within 7 days)
    • Efficient and large acces to patient cohorts between AP-HM and IPC sites, expanding recruitment capacity for clinical trials
  • Scientific Working group defining the scientific and strategic decisions of C2IT research and development activities.
    Its missions include:
    • Reviewing ongoing and upcoming studies, including academic research projects initiated by C2IT stakeholders
    • Evaluating diagnostic and therapeutic clinical trials, as well as translational and data-driven research projects
    • Reflecting on valorization and innovation strategies
    • Organizing scientific activities and academic animation
  • Administrative Working group bringing together resources from AP-HM and IPC across several departments:
    • Research and Innovation
    • Finance
    • Human Resources
    • Legal
